Unleash Your Potential: Setting Intentions for a Purposeful Year

Happy 2024!!!

It is the start of the new year and I know you may be feeling pressure to make resolutions. New year... New me... blah blah blah...

For years I made resolutions, usually some lofty restrictive fitness goal, only to give up after a few weeks. But then a few years ago I started a new New Year's tradition and I have seen so much personal growth from this one thing! I am so excited to share it with you and I hope it serves you as it has me.

Here it is:

1. Each year I set an intention for the year! What are my goals and where do I want to grow. For me, an intention has a more positive focus. Rather than coming from an energy of not being enough, it is simply something I want to shift in my life.

2. Then I choose one word or a short phrase that encompasses that intention and becomes my mantra for the year. When I start to get off track with my intention, that phrase or word brings me back... again.... and again... and again....

My first year doing this, my word was simply "Nourish".

It was my constant reminder to choose practices that truly nourished my body. This word alone helped me overcome my tendency for punishing workouts and restrictive eating patterns that really did not serve me. My self-care became true self-care! And I have never looked back.

The next year I was so excited to choose my word! Instead of the usual dread I would feel about New Year's resolutions, I felt encouraged. That year my words were "align and allow." This ended up being the year I started my meditation practice and I am not exaggerating when I say that magical things began to happen when I started meditating daily. When I wanted to quit or not show up for my meditation practice, I simply reminded myself of my words... align and allow.

3. I love to have a journal (usually a note in my phone) that is titled with the year and my word. This serves as my place to reflect on my progress and stay on track with my intention throughout the year. With any personal growth or change, there are going to be set backs and struggles. Having a place to go to self reflect is so so valuable. And it is so fun to read back through it in December and see how far I have come.

For the past few weeks, I have been reflecting a lot on the ways I want to grow this year. I believe we are here on this earth to learn and grow and love. There is always self-growth to be done. I am choosing my word this week and am excited to begin another year of this valuable practice.

Will you join me? What are your intentions for this year?

What word encompasses this intention?

I would love to be your guide and am here to help you achieve your own personal growth. Always reach out if I can support you.

Sending you so much love & light,

Tiffany
